The Suri’s fleece - long, separate, distinctive locks - are comprised  of silky, lustrous fibres that drape down the sides of the alpaca’s body.  It has a cool, slick handle, is soft as cashmere, warmer and stronger than wool, and has the lustre of silk.  Suri fibre produces exquisite, fashionable garments that retain their superior look throughout the years. It also possesses outstanding thermostatic qualities being second in warmth only to Polar Bear fur.

The Suri is rare and unique, representing only 3 - 5 % of Alpacas globally.
